As previously stated, the first round of the Portkey Readers' Choice Awards is reader nominations. In this thread, nominate eligible Non-H/Hr fics and authors, i.e.,

for the awards of:

* Best Novel Length (JKR, Non-H/Hr)
* Best Novel Length (AU, Non-H/Hr)
* Best Short Fic (Smut, Non-H/Hr)
* Best Short Fic (Fluff, Non-H/Hr)
* Best Short Fic (Humour, Non-H/Hr)
* Best Short Fic (Angst, Non-H/Hr)
* Best New Author (Non-H/Hr)

As a brief refresher, a fic is eligible if it is hosted here at Portkey and was completed within the 6-month interval before December 31st (the date of the close of nominations). Authors nominated in the "Best New Author" category must have posted their first fic at Portkey in that same interval.

Nominate fics using the following format (template is below):

For the Best New Author category, just leave out the Title line.

Self-nominations will not be counted. A nomination by an Author who nominates themselves or one of their Fics will not be considered, but if they are nominated by someone else, that nomination will be counted.

Do NOT use this thread to discuss the nominated fics; that can be done in the Recommendations Forums. If your nomination does not already have a Rec thread, why not enter it into our Rec Engine? Also, please keep all discussion in those threads civil; no flaming, name-calling, or bashing of others' work is allowed. If behavior of this kind occurs, then any activity relating to the Awards will be postponed until further notice.

Okay, enough with the modly stuff...let's get this show on the road!

Everyone, we do need to nominate non-H/H stories! Here they are:

Draco/Ginny, Lily/James, and Ron/Luna.

IF your favorite story was completed from Jul 1 2004 onwards,
(indicated as 01/07/2004 dd/mm/yyyy in Portkey author pages),

BUT was not marked as such, (i.e., "completed")

THEN direct the author to this tip. This way, that story will be included in the search results I linked above.

Yes, that's right. When shortlisting, we'll be taking a number of factors into account, including:

-- Number of nominations
-- Reviews on the Rec thread
-- Reviews for the story that are reasonably long: Reviews going "OMGWTFBBQ ur story iz teh kewliez!!!89!!!" will not be counted.

Just weighing in here too, yes even if the Fic you want to nominate has already been nominated, go right ahead and do it again. This is a Reader's Choice Awards, and if we have too many Fics nominated for a category, the amount of nominations it received will be one determining factor of whether or not it makes it to the voting stage.
